THE perfect rice



INGREDIENTS:
  • 225 (8oz) long grain rice
  • 600ml (1 pint) boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon of oil salt
follow this recipe and you will have perfectly cooked fluffy rice every time
  1. first, heat the oil in a saucepan. add the rice, stir well and cook gently for a few minutes until it is tarnsparent.
  2. add the water and salt. put a lid on the pan and let the rice simmer. do not stir it while it is cooking.
  3. after 15 minutes (or 40 minutes if you have brown rice),
    have a look. it should have absorbed all the water in the pan.
  4. bite a few grains to test if it is done. they should be tender. if still hars, add a little water and cook the rice a bit longer.
when the rice is done, sppon it into a warm serving dish and fluff it up with the prongs of a fork. rice can be eaten with almost everything, but i do enjoy eating it with some fresh tasty yugart!
